The Seven Seas Voyager is Regent Cruise Line's newest ship and offers all-suite, all-balcony accommodations for those looking for an upscale cruise experience. They are offering this luxurious ship for a 7-day Mediterranean Cruise at an outstanding price.
The adventure of the Seven Seas Voyager starts out in Rome, Italy, where cruisers should be sure to spend a few days before setting sail. Rome, as the capital of Italy and once the center of world civilization has more history, culture, and beauty to offer then one could ever possibly hope to see, but everyone should get a taste of the wonderful city. From Rome, the Seven Seas Voyager will sail to Sorrento, Italy located on the Amalfi Coast, a strip of land in western Italy that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. Enjoy stunning views of the ocean from the towering cliffs that line the coast or enjoy the sun while digging your toes into the black sand that makes up the beaches along the Amalfi Coast.
From Sorrento, the next destination is Naxos, Italy, situated on the Northern sector of the Ionian coast of Sicily. Although, Naxos does tend to attract tourists, there is not much to do here besides take in the amazing, but tragic history and culture and enjoy the view. The official currency of Italy is the euro, so be sure to exchange enough money for the visits to Rome, Sorrento and Naxos.
After spending a few hours in Naxos, the ship sails for Rhodes Greece, one of the principle Dodecanese islands, which are the easternmost islands of Greece. As one of the most beautiful and diversified Greek Islands, Rhodes is the most traveled, enticing travelers' with its rare beauty and fascinating history. Enjoying an average of 300 days of sunshine a year, it is no wonder that people flock here from all over the world, however it is the natives of Rhodes friendly nature and smiles that make this island truly unique. Obviously, spending a few hours on the beach in this amazing place is a must, but don't miss out on the great cultural and historical aspects that can be found in the small villages and museums. The official currency of Greece is the Greek drachma, which is worth a little more than a third of the U.S. dollar. Exchanging money ahead of time is important to avoid high exchange fees when dealing with any currency, but especially with the drachma, since the best shopping in Greece is in out door markets, where credit cards are rarely accepted. This currency will also be needed in Santorini, and Athens, the last two stops of the cruise.
From Rhodes, the Seven Seas Voyager will set sail for Kusadasi, Turkey a city as diverse as its country. Although the city is built up like beach resort and has all of the amenities to offer its guests, it more likely that you will marvel at the superb historical and architectural sights, enjoy one of the great dining facilities, or enjoy a drink with a local in one of the neighborhood bars. Because the beaches are so unpopular with the locals and the city has so much more to offer, even in the summer, secluded, beautiful beach spots can be found and enjoyed by tourists. In Turkey, the official currency is the new Turkish lira, worth about two thirds of the U.S. dollar. Again, out door markets are popular in Turkey, and credit cards will rarely be accepted so exchange that money ahead of time.
From Kusadasi, the Voyager will head back to Greece to Santorini, the southernmost island in The Cyclades Islands. Famous for the collection of cliffs bordering the Aegean Sea that in ancient times was an active volcano, Santorini is the most frequented islands in The Cyclades and its most prized possession. The eastern side of the island is a tourist's paradise. During the day guests can enjoy calm beaches that stretch for miles with sparkling waters as well as plenty of shops and restaurants while at night the island comes alive, as tourists frequent the nightclubs and taverns tasting the islands homemade wine.
The last stop for the Seven Seas Voyager is Athens, Greece, an exciting city filled with shops, cafes, monuments and character. The entire city is filled with history and culture and is a place the needs to be explored. With the new metro system and coastal tram, discovering Athens is even easier. Everything is just a short train ride away.
