    Thanks for all the great tips guys.

    When planning for backpacking, I like to take the advice the manager of the hostel I used to work at gave me. Lay out all the things you think you’ll need - backpack, lock, cloths etc. see how much space it takes up and how much it a weighs.

    Then take half the stuff and twice the cash!
