Cancun, Mexico has been a huge tourist attraction for many years. People come from around the world to experience the beautiful beaches, the markets, the nightlife, and activities. It’s also just a very great place to get away from your everyday hustle and bustle and just spend time with family or friends and just relax. You can lay on the beach and enjoy a cool beverage while you are taking in all of the sites.
While I was in Cancun I had so much fun in such a short period of time. My advice would be to do everything you can while you are there because you will not regret it. Of course you will still have time to relax but some of the activities can be relaxing as well. The instant I got to the beach I wanted to do everything, I was like a little kid.
Once you get to the airport and through the customs you realize that it was well worth the wait. I stayed at the Sheraton Hotel and it was a great experience. There is a pool outside after a strip of stores that has a delightful swim up bar where you can get your cocktails and beer two for one at happy hour. Even when you are on the beach on the other side of the hotel you have people waiting on you hand and foot. But, there are plenty of hotels that I am sure provide the same services.
For those of you who have not yet been to this peninsula, I do have some words of advice. Just like anywhere you visit you must be careful and abide by some safety guidelines. Try to be on your best behavior because you may get extorted for some cash by police or imposters pretending to be police. I never had this experience but you here of it happening and you should just be aware. Staying with a group is your best bet. Also don’t go swimming at night in the ocean because there is a bad current and they advice you not to.
Transportation is quick and easy. You can hop on a bus or catch a taxi to get to your destination. During the day there are plenty of fun things to keep you busy. Going to the markets is always fun and you can make deals with the sellers because they hate to pass up a sale. You can also go parasasailing, horseback riding, look at ancient ruins, scuba diving, or just stay back at the hotel and enjoy the beach.
The night life is the best part of the whole trip. It is much cooler at night and you can hop around from one place to the other. They have all types of dance parties and specials with lots of entertainment. Always make sure to watch your drinks because you never know what someone can put in them. So if you get the chance I highly instruct you to get yourself to Cancun and enjoy yourself.

Britain is home of some of the fanciest castles ever built. You can go and visit some of the castles on your trip. It will be a great learning experience for you and the family because you get to see how the owners lived and also get some historical background. Some of the most famous castles to visit are Berkeley, Croft, belvoir, Muncaster, and Grimsthorpe. (Above photograph is of the Muncaster Castle.)
The Muncaster Castle has been home to the Pennington Family for 800 years. Remodelling was done in the 1860′s by Anthony Salvin with the most extravagant decor. The castle is just one mile south of Ravenglass on the A595. Opening times are Feb 11 to Nov 4, Daily, 10:30-18:00. Castle open Sun to Fri, 12:00-17:00.
Another astonishing castle is the Belvoir. Home of the Duke & Duchess of Rutland with great views over the Vales of Belvoir. The castle was rebuilt after being nearly destoyed after a fire in 1816. During your visit you may view the museum in the castle as well as have weddings and Corporate events held there. You can check the official website for dates and times open at www.belvoircastle.com

The Ice Hotel is an innovative idea and a turned out to be a really unique creation. You can find this elaborate structure by the shores of the Torne River in Sweden where the ice used for the hotel is actually taken. It takes 10,000 tons of ice and 30,000 tons of snow in order to build this hotel each year. The pure waters from the river as well as the constant movement allow the ice to be crystal clear.
The hotel is reassembled each year with a different construction. The architects are busy at work because they create a totally new hotel with all new design, suites, and reception. The process is building these massive ice hotels is really remarkable. The Ice Hotel near the village of Jukkasjarvi, in Sweden, is the first and most famous of them all.
There are more than 80 rooms and suites including an Absolute ice bar, a reception and a church. Everything is made of ice! The price for a night stay can cost about 1,400 Swedish Krona which would be around $196 U.S. dollars. Availability of the hotel is from December to April but many come to visit in the summer as well because there is an art exhibition made of ice.
You may think what is there to do at an ice hotel? But, you will be happy to know that there are plenty of things to do during your stay. There is a guided tour of the hotel which is open to visitors in the winter season from 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. You can also experience ice sculpting because they allow you to sculpt yourself with the guidance of a professional, daily at 11 A.M. There is also cross country skiing and snowshoeing available to guests. This is truly a unique experience and anyone who has the chance to visit should do so.

But, the best time to visit is during Carnaval, a four day celebration that begins 40 days before Easter marking the beginning of Lent. This year’s Carnaval has passed, but it’s never to early to start planning for next year. In 2008 this celebration will be on February 2nd through the 5th.
Rio De Janeiro is famous for it’s Carnaval celebrations. Rio De Janeiro means “River of January” in English and is nicknamed A Cidade Maravilhosa, which means, “The Marvelous City.” With a name like this, you know it must be a spectacular place to visit.
During the celebration there are people masquerading, dancing, and marching in parades. A year of planning goes into this festive period where everyone forgets about their responsibilities. Everyone dances through the streets and feasts on delicious foods. Most Brazilian cities have Carnaval, but three claim to have THE Carnaval: Rio De Janeiro, Salvador and Olinda-Recife.

Section 802 of the USA PATRIOT expanded the definition of terrorism to cover “domestic,” as opposed to international, terrorism. The definition of domestic terrorism is broad enough to encompass anyone as a terrorist.

Have you ever considered spending the Christmas time at a refugee camp in Darfur instead of at a luxury hotel in Hawaii? How about the other refuge camp in Cambodia for your engagement ceremony?
Globe-trotting Hollywood couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt spent Christmas Day handing out presents to Colombian war refugees in Costa Rica. Would like to understand and see what you can find out about what’s happening in the world? Then do the same thing as Angelina, and Brad. Rich or not rich, no matter whom you are; take your backpack with you, and just go.
Pioneer Angelina Jolie began traveling as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations some six years ago. She has visited the victims of violence in Africa, Pakistan and Cambodia-first as an observer in the background, then using her fame to draw attention to the plight of the helpless.
In the beginning, people thought she was a little crazy because she has spent the last six years of her life going to over 30 camps and really spending time with these people
Media criticizes her a lot, but all that criticism couldn’t keep her from doing this kind of work.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have moved to New Orleans on Jan. 11 and plan to send their three children to school there. As everyone are trying to move out of New Orleans, the couple are doing the opposite by moving to New Orleans because they hope to raise awareness for the hurricane-devastated Gulf Coast region. This is the main reason that they are there with their children. They bought property in the city’s famous French Quarter and want to draw the attention of other people all over the USA.
Jolie quietly mixed with the locals the day after she and Pitt moved to town. They think it is important to be there and are already looking to get more involved in local charity work. The construction is set to start this month on 20 environment-friendly homes Pitt has jointly commissioned with the group Global Green USA.
Angeline said, “It’s important for the American people to know that a lot of people believe. I certainly believe that it has been their outcry and their interest that has motivated our government.” Apparently she and her family draw so much attention of government to the situation of helpless people. Now it is your turn.

Mount Rushmore is probably one of the most renown land marks in the United States history. This national memorial is located near Keystone, South Dakota and is made from a huge granite mountain which was sculpted by a man named Gutzon Borglum.
Borglum started drilling for the project in 1927 and didn’t finish until about fourteen years later. Unforunately he died before he was finished so his son finished the last bit of the sculpture.
The four figures on this massive sculpture are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. They represent the first 150 years of America’s history and its growth.
The site was actually known to early white settlers as Sugarloaf Mountain, Keystone Kliffs, and Cougar Mountain until it later got its famous name, Mount Rushmore. Today this magnificent attraction brings in more than two million tourists per year. Everyone wants to come see these beautifully crafted sculptures because it is a part of our history and it is truly a breathtaking scene.
This is also a FREE attraction so besides the costs of actually getting there you do not have to pay for this wonderful experience. For people interested here are some simple directions to Mount Rushmore. Travelers on a plane will get off at the Rapid City Regional Airport which is only 35 miles from the memorial and you can rent a vehicle from there. When traveling in a car on I-90, you should exit at Rapid City and follow Highway 16 southwest to Keystone and then Highway 244 to Mount Rushmore. But, if you are coming from the south, just follow Highway 385 north to Highway 244 which will take you right to the memorial.

You are the most advanced fighter in the world. You have the stealth capabilities, advanced radar, state of the art weapons systems and ultra efficient turbofans that allow you to “supercruise” at supersonic speeds. You’ve gone up against the best that the US Air Force and Navy has to offer, taking out F-15s, and F-16s during simulated war games in Alaska.
Yet in moments you find yourself deaf and dumb over the Pacific Ocean on a 12-15 hour flight from Hawaii to Kadena Air Base in Okinawa Japan. Yes, you the F-22 Raptor have been felled by the international date line (IDL).
When six Raptors crossed over the international date line, multiple computer systems crashed on the planes. Navigation, partial communications and fuel subsystems went offline completely. Any attempts to reboot met with failure.
Thankfully, visibility that day was not a problem. Had the Raptors gotten seperated from their refueling tankers or had the weather been bad there would have been no attitude referance. “The Raptors had no communications or navigation,” said retired Air Force Major General Don Shepperd. “They would have turned around and probably could have found the Hawaiian Islands. but if the weather had been bad on approach, there could have been real trouble.”
The glitch turned out to be a Y2k like problem in the millions of lines of code. someone made a small error in a couple of lines of code and the U.S. Air Force may have been forced to admit that their aircraft which cost $125 million USD apiece plus had been knocked out of the sky.
Luckily the error was discovered before combat and the problem was fixed with tiger teams in about 48 hours and the airplanes completed their deployment.
“This could have been real serious in combat” observed Shepperd.
